Terpinen-4-ol is considered the primary active ingredient for tea tree oil and is one of the main components in nutmeg essential oil. It is a pale yellow, clear liquid which acts as an antibacterial agent, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory agent.
It gives off a warm, earthy, herbaceous aroma with citrus undertones.
